So yesterday I planned to make a post. I had it all planned out. It was going to be a post all about clocks ^_^ Well, I decided to do it later that evening after I was done getting in some Final Fantasy XI play time. Which was pretty fun might I add. They are currently having a Halloween event. Anyway, my laptop was in the living room on the coffee table. I was sitting in front of it as usual. With wires coming out of it all over the place. Well I get up to go and get something to eat from the kitchen and not noticing many of the wires coming from my laptop around my foot. Yeah….So I tripped >.< and took out my laptop and half of what was on the coffee table with it. Includeing a glass of water that ended up far away from the coffee table yet somehow most of the water ended up my my keyboard. So I try to turn on my laptop and.....nothing. The power light comes on for a second or two then turns off. :/ So I was internetless all last night and could do nothing but hope it would dry out and work when I woke up. Fortunately it did. And now it works, minus the keyboard T_T So I'm currently having to use a USB keyboard on my laptop.

I'd send it in to get fixed, and put my warranty to some use, but, I'm in the middle of raising my chocobo on FFXI and if I stop that's a month worth of time AND Gill down the drain which is unacceptable. So its just going to have to wait until I'm done with that. /sigh I really need to just by internet so I can use something other than my lappy to get on. Or I could just find a friend willing to log into my account and feed my chocobo once a day while its off getting repaired. >_>

Cracking open XNA

So last night my roommate inspired me while she was playing her Xbox 360. I realized that I have yet to do any game coding for a console. So I hopped on Microsoft’s XNA site and downloaded the software. I think it’s nifty that they offer this for free and allow coders to make 360 games. While a bit more limited than a full blown developer’s kit I plan to give it a try. I dusted off my copy of Visual Studio, which I’m installing right now. Why must programming languages take so long to install :/ Anyway, I was thinking that a simple game I could make to start off with, and a genre that I haven’t played a good game in a while, would be a racing game. Something that I could easily make on my own. Already being familiar with Visual Studio it may prove fairly easy and quick for me to pick up and learn. I’ll be sure to report on my progress as I work it out. Sadly all of their tutorials are in video forum and my sound card is still busted >_< Time to call Dell and put that warranty to some more use. In the mean time I can probably download them and watch them on my PS3. lol irony.
